The Chicago Cubs are one of Major League Baseball’s most iconic franchises, playing at historic Wrigley Field. The graph depicts the Chicago Cubs attendance from the years 2007–2016.

As the graph showed, the attendance tended to decrease gradually after 2008 and the lowest attendance was in 2013 with 2,642,682 people. This situation stayed in 2 years (2013 and 2014), they all kept the similar numbers of attendance (about more than 2.6 Million people).

There are numerous factors affecting attendance that are beyond the reach Major League Baseball’s influence (the economy, what teams are in the World Series, etc.) and in 2013, the Wrigley Field renovation was also planned. Therefore, this could be another factor that affected the numbers of attendance.

However, the Cubs attendance tended to increase after 2015. The graph showed that Cubs attendance once again got more than 3 Million people in 2016 (3,232,420 people). It might be the changing of a whole host of factors that they can control, such as pricing, game length and even season length, etc.

Although it was not possible to hit a new peak or surpass 2008 with 3,300,200 people, but reached 3 million attendees again was also a positive trend for the Chicago Cubs.
